Hello! I’m Alyx,
I am a certified birth and postpartum worker serving Benton, Linn, and Polk counties in the Pacific Northwest.
As a mother of three, I have personally experienced deliveries in a hospital, at a birth-center, as well as at home. Although each experience was exceptionally different, I loved all three of them equally and became inspired to create Earthside Traditions.
Earthside Traditions represents the strength of childbirth and the support we give each other during the magical phases of birth. Each peak represents one of my daughters in our mountainous terrain near The Three Sisters Mountain Range.
My Mission:
As a birthworker, I do my best to educate myself on the beliefs and birthing practices of all cultures and am especially excited when I am hired by a new client who has something specific in mind to experience. I am a firm believer in the magic of childbirth and I believe in this magic down in the deepest parts of my soul. Not only is this a special time for new life, it also marks the celebration between a birthing person and their partner as new parents—which can sometimes need an extra, experienced set of hands for guidance.
That’s where I come in!
Whether you’re home, at a birthing center, or in a hospital—whether you’re going at it alone or here with your partner—I work hard to educate and empower individuals throughout the birthing process to answer any questions and concerns that undoubtedly, will arise.
Because this is such a personal and sometimes vulnerable time, I am always grateful to be chosen as a witness to these extraordinary experiences and aim to provide comfort and full-trust weeks before labor begins.
We will work together throughout your pregnancy to establish inner-confidence so that you can comfortably take control of your birth. I attend births ready and able to jump in at any time. While sometimes this means an active role in massage and encouragement, other times, I play a quieter role and simply hold space while magic brings your babe, EarthSide. Whatever the case, I’m always there as added support through this intricate dance.
